Cavalieri is working with Robert Crumb to produce this series of stained glass panels. Mr. Crumb (the animation cult hero whose characters Fritz the Cat and Mr. Natural became counterculture icons in the 1970’s) has agreed to let Joseph use his iconic images. The first of these pieces, “D&G” was produced during Cavalieri’s three month residency at the Museum of Arts and Design in Manhattan.

“D&G” replicates R. Crumb’s illustration of the same name. Enamel paint baked onto glass instead of pen and ink drawn on paper. Parts of this series are currently for sale, others will be seen at the UrbanGlass booth at SOFA Chicago this November 5 - 7, 2010.
